Terms & Conditions

By booking any service with Empire Exteriors, the customer agrees to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Payment Terms

Payment is due within 7 calendar days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We accept payment by bank transfer, cash, or any other agreed payment method.

If payment is not received within the agreed period:

A £20 late payment administration fee may be added.
Accounts overdue by more than 30 days may be referred to a debt recovery agency or legal proceedings.
Any reasonable debt recovery costs, court fees or legal costs incurred in recovering unpaid balances may also be added where permitted by law.
Empire Exteriors reserves the right to suspend or refuse future work until outstanding balances have been settled.

For commercial customers, statutory interest and compensation may be charged under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable.

2. Quotations

All quotations remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Quotes are based on visible conditions at the time of inspection.

If additional work becomes necessary due to hidden contamination, unforeseen issues or customer requests, additional charges may apply after agreement with the customer.

3. Access Requirements

Customers must provide:

Safe access to the property
Access to an outdoor water supply where required
Access to electricity where required
Clear working areas free from vehicles, furniture and obstructions

Empire Exteriors reserves the right to postpone work if access is unsafe or unavailable.

4. Weather Delays

Exterior cleaning is weather dependent.

Heavy rain, high winds, freezing temperatures or unsafe working conditions may require appointments to be rescheduled.

No cancellation fees apply where work is postponed due to weather.

5. Pre-Existing Damage

Empire Exteriors cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by existing defects including but not limited to:

Loose pointing
Loose or cracked roof tiles
Weak mortar
Deteriorated render
Rotten timber
Failed seals
Loose guttering
Cracked paving
Existing leaks
Previously damaged surfaces

Cleaning may reveal defects that were previously hidden beneath dirt, moss or algae.

6. Pressure Washing

Pressure washing removes dirt, algae and organic growth but cannot repair existing damage.

Empire Exteriors accepts no responsibility for:

Existing loose pointing
Loose jointing sand
Existing cracks
Surface imperfections
Previously damaged concrete
Existing oil or rust staining that cannot be fully removed

Some stains may permanently remain despite professional cleaning.

7. Roof Cleaning

Roof scraping removes moss manually.

Biocide treatment continues working over the following 12–14 months, gradually eliminating remaining moss, algae and lichen.

Some staining may remain depending on:

Roof age
Tile condition
Previous damage
Deeply embedded lichen

Empire Exteriors does not guarantee an instant visual transformation unless specifically agreed.

8. Roof Cleaning Guarantee

Where a roof scrape and biocide treatment has been carried out in accordance with our recommendation, Empire Exteriors guarantees that the biocide treatment will continue working over the following 12–14 months.

Should significant moss regrowth occur during this period due solely to treatment failure, we will inspect the roof and, where appropriate, provide a complimentary re-treatment.

This guarantee does not cover:

New moss growth caused by surrounding trees or exceptional environmental conditions
Storm damage
Roof repairs
Previously untreated roof sections
Structural defects

9. Window Cleaning

Pure water window cleaning may occasionally leave spotting on first cleans due to old detergent residue.

Results normally improve after regular maintenance cleans.

10. Gutter Cleaning

Our gutter cleaning service removes debris from gutters where access is possible.

Unless specifically agreed, we do not dismantle guttering or carry out plumbing or repair work.

Existing leaks may become noticeable once blockages have been removed.

11. Resin Bound & Delicate Surfaces

Certain surfaces require reduced pressure or specialist treatment.

Empire Exteriors reserves the right to refuse pressure washing where there is an unacceptable risk of damage.

12. Cancellations

Customers are requested to provide at least 24 hours' notice if cancelling or rearranging an appointment.

Repeated short-notice cancellations may require a deposit before future bookings.

13. Liability

Empire Exteriors holds Public Liability Insurance.

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out unless otherwise required by law.

We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of earnings or consequential damages.

14. Photographs

We may take before and after photographs for quality control and marketing purposes.

No personal information or identifying details will be published without permission.

15. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us within 48 hours of completion.

We will investigate and aim to resolve any genuine concerns promptly.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
